VerTac Essential NVG covers the essential information required for the end user to completely understand how to properly function and operate Night Vision Devices. Including laser set up and zeroing procedures, proper equipment set up, proper techniques to engage with a rifle or pistol while using NVGs and more. 

VerTac NVG Day 2 & 3 pick up with dynamic movement and shooting positions while using NVGS. 

  • Safety with NVGS is critical, NVGs typically limit a user to approximately 47º field of view. 

  • There are a lot of misconceptions, myths, and flat out incorrect or antiquated setups, tactics and ideas regarding the use of NVGs. Some can seem to be extremely reasonable, however in practice are not ideal. Save yourself the headache and establish a proper foundation.

Description



  • Class deposit is required to hold your seat, the deposit is non refundable and the remaining balance must be paid within 3 weeks of your scheduled class date.

 

Required Equipment

    • Night vision goggle (Gen3 preferred) (can be rented for additional fee)

    • Helmet or head harness for NVG (can be rented for additional fee)
    • NVG helmet mount (can be rented for additional fee)
    • Visible light marker on helmet (recommended Hel-Star 6, or Unity Spark in green)
    • 300 rifle rounds & 50 pistol rounds
    • Carbine or rifle
    • Rifle weapon light
    • Rifle red dot (preferably night vision compatible)
    • NVG height mount (strongly recommended)
    • Infrared laser (can be rented for additional fee)
    • Weapon-Mounted IR illuminator (recommended)
    • Sling
    • Pistol (RDS preferred)
    • Pistol weapon light
    • Hand held white light (Surefire Vampire IR/White recommended)
    • Ballistic eye protection
    • Ear protection that is compatible with helmet usage
    • Maintenance/cleaning kit for weapons
    • Minimum of three (3) rifle magazines
    • Minimum of three (3) pistol magazines
    • Pistol holster and magazine pouches that will retain items during movement
    • Must hold two (2) each rifle and pistol magazines on person
    • Sufficient batteries for all your equipment
    • Clothing suited to strenuous activity (no shorts)
    • No Cloth or leather holsters- we recommend the Safariland ALS or GLS line of holsters
    • No Blackhawk Serpa holsters
    • Hydration & water, snacks, energy drinks, etc.
